THE ADULHEM CONTROVERSY 

The newly FDA approved specialty drug, Adulhem, for the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease is creating plenty of controversy in the health care industry. This drug was reviewed by the FDA through its
accelerated approval process reserved for serious health conditions and is based off a surrogate endpoint as opposed to showing clinical effectiveness. In addition to its lack of clinical evidence, it has a price tag of $56,000.00 per year.
